I used to take this viewpoint, but no longer. I think AI will greatly augment the programmer and allow one person to be a whole team, but AI will not... let me say this another way. It would be UNWISE to allow AI to completely write an entire application, especially one that deals with sensitive data, unsupervised, or without review of the code. I think in many cases it may even be illegal (or should be). Think about bank software or HIPPA-compliant software. One would be a fool to rely on the produce of LLMs for such applications.
