I’m not a financial guy. I’m a software engineer. I have to say though that I am very skeptical of this article. Every iteration of ChatGPT comes with incredibly useful new features. I don’t see this trend slowing down. I know that I gladly give them my $20/mo for the web interface and I also have several projects that use the API.

Also I’m pretty sure OpenAI is some kind of hybrid nonprofit/for profit company, so maybe that’s why their numbers look weird.

I’m sorry but I find their product too amazing and useful to take this assessment seriously.
