There are some pretty low profile cases you can get. My phone is too expensive to risk breaking. It’s saved my screen on many occasions. You talk about sustainability but the phone itself trumps any consideration of harm to the environment compared to a rubber case. There are toxic chemicals in the electronics. And you drop and break your phone then you’d be adding even more phones to the landfill because that’s where 5.3 billion (yea with a b) end up this year.
